In Mormonism, the Adam–God theory was a doctrine taught by Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and other early leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) involving the status of Adam as the God of humanity. Basically, the doctrine states that Adam was actually God the Father, that he came to this earth with an immortal, celestial and resurrected body, along with his wife Eve, and partook of the fruit in the Garden of Eden thus causing the Fall of Mankind.
