The Preservation of the Bible from the Targums to William Tyndale
Donald Barger
The Bible is the story of God’s interaction with mankind. The Bible provides an historical account of creation, fall, redemption, rebellion, and salvation. Most Western Christians take access to the Bible in the vernacular language for granted, but it has not always been accessible to the masses.
Excellent research article originally published in Bibliotheca Sacra that discusses views on the Majority Text that first began in 1883 by John W. Burgon. Applies also to the King James Only Controversy!
